Instead of listening to criticism and clearing things up I notice that Symantec has chosen to silence people by censoring their comments. This has been done by deleting and editing comments that are not offensive, but perhaps unpleasant to Symantec. In my opinion, this strategy will not only make people angry, it will also make things worse for Symantec.

Have you ever heard about the Streisand effect? What you risk is even worse press, in blogs and on news sites.

Worse still, editing other people's comments is a violation of their integrity.

I expect Symantec to clear this up by giving an unrestricted apology and putting those comments back on the forum. As I said eariler, none of them, as far as I can see, have been offensive in any manner. Giving a response to clear things up is clearly the answer, NOT censorship and violating your users' integrity by editing their comments without their permission.

As I have indicated to your other two posts on this, I know nothing about this happening and am asking around to try to find out what is happening.
