This issue has been solved. See solution.

We have just noticed an entire thread on the NetBackup forum going missing between yesterday and today:

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/tap...

Getting: The requested page could not be found.

I am trying to figure out if this particular thread was deleted for any specific reason or a bug in the system?

If it is  possible to restore it would be useful, as I wished to make a copy of the notes I added.  If this is not possible, but the thread details are still available, could they be sent to me ?  at martin<underscore>holt@symantec.com

Many thanks

Martin

I have noticed the same shortly after posting this thread.

I have personally responded to quite a lot of his posts...

Hi all,

The database is healthy so I'm guessing the author of the thread in question deleted his/her post -- we do allow that -- for better or for worse.

Kevin, when a user deletes his/her own post, all the replies to the post are also deleted. Everyone then lose the points associated with those responses. In this case, I did not lose any points. I have responded to most of this user's posts and was awarded a solution or two as well.

This user name is also deleted. Can users do that themselves?

*** One more thing ****

Can users delete an entire discussion? If I look at my opening post in this thread, I can "View" or "Edit". I don't see any way to delete the opening post or an entire thread. Only Admins can do that, right?

**** EDIT ****

Just saw the Delete button at the bottom when I'm in the Edit screen........

Maybe the poor guy got into trouble for seeking assistance here....

...I've had that before. I tend to not reply to a reply, if you know what I mean?

Isn't that a grievous security risk putting the conversation integrity in an acute jeopardy?
