  • 1.  Found Unrecognized Folder--Is this a threat

    Hi I use Norton 360.  I was trying to open a program that i have used multiple times and it told me that it was on a network that i didn't have access to, but i had installed to my hard drive.  It gave me the address of where it was at, but when i tried to find my local folder, it wasn't there and in it's place was this folder :

    .haWabAzAr

    Do you know what this is?  I ran Power Eraser, But it found nothing, which is good i guess.  What should i do now?

    First thing I would do, is submit the file to Security Response or Threat Expert for analysis.

    Dear Thomas,

    I think the user is not able to access the folder as it complaints about access restriction on the same. If there is a later new version of PE that act on it would be good. I did a Bing Search on this name 'hAWabAzAr' and there is a non-English website but I don't think it downloads any malware. I use FF 5 with Web Forgery detection enabled. Nothing was blocked.
