Might be usefull but I would (strongly) say that's not the way: the Q/A takes more than 1 screen: I don't like it then.

Please provide us (all the Customers) with a "License Server" application/role that we could install on any server running Symantec Software (SUSE with PureDisk, Win2KX with NetBackup OpsCenter/Media/Master, or whatever). Then the server would simply report all the information you need for license issuing. It should be able to keep the licenses etc, so we would not have to dig through "excels" to install anything.

Things like Customer counting the number of clients or front-end data size if for "home-grown-companies". Software should be charged like electricity: pay for what you use and the power company owns the meter.

I would really like to remind You that this is the XXI century and everyone are used to live payments/charging when buying "carrot", so what's wrong with the "Corporate Suited Software"?

Waiting for release then!

Yes I have a question...

We are on NetBackup 6.5.6 running on Solaris. By looking through my.symantec page and entering our customer ID, I can see all of our licenses and I can see that version 7.0 is listed. So, I downloaded it, and now I'm trying to evaluate an Windows server installation.

My question is, how do I get the License Key? on the licenseing page on this website I can see all of my entitled software and their serial number. When I click on 'Get a License Key' and input my serial number, it says this serial number does not require a key.. yet the installation asks for one. Any help?

Hi,

A very needy link for netbackup users.

Hi mansoor.sheik,

What is the gentlest way to politely request that you stop tacking replies onto the old featured threads?

Between this one and that one, I'm starting to wonder if you're not some sort of sophisticated algorithmic replybot.
