This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi we need to migrate from the existing server to a new server that will have a different OS and version of SQL potentially. I have see TECH35744 that talks about moving SQL but is this just for EV for Exchange or does it cover FSA as well?

Also we are on Windows 2008 with SQL 2008, we are looking to go to Windows 2012 with SQL2012.

I don’t think it matter the kind of target you have (exchange or FSA), reference will be coming to EV directory & VS database (few additional dbs based on configuration), so the steps mentioned in tech note http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH35744 is applicable for FSA as well.

Please also look at TN http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH214373 for doing it via powershell

Hello Richard,

From the database perspective, there is no difference between FSA, Mailbox, Sharepoint or Domino archives. All the archives information are stored in the DIrectory, VSG and VS databases. That technote applies to all the Enterprise Vault databases. In addition, for SQL 2012, you need Enterprise Vault 10.0.2 or later. Make sure you are running a supported version (http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH38537 - Page 15).

I hope this helps.
