FSA restore a specific archive to different location

Hi

We want to restore a specific FSA archive to different location where file server doesn't exist anymore.

FSA Utility cannot be used because the same target folder has archives in more than one vault store.

We only want to restore from a specific archive from a specific vault store.

Is that possible? If yes then how?

EV Version is 8.0.4

Many Thanks

Well, there are only 2 ways to restore the FSA archived data, either FSAUtil or Archive Explorer.

If you can find out the date range of archived items stored in that specific vault store, then you can use date range with FSAUtil to restore those items to new location.

You may restore using FSAUtility with the -t switch,(note fsautility is used by admins and if end user want to perform the restore he would need to use archvie explorer.) Check the utility guide for the -t option or just for quick reference check the following blog by Rob wilcox https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/redirect-enterprise-vault-fsa-restore

I know you can use FSA Utility with following format

FSAUTILITY -t -s \\source\share -d \\dest\share

Any way to specify a specific archive as \\source\share has multiple archives.

Well when you run the command ,it wold restore files from all the archives associated to the share. If you want to restore data from a specific archvie of that share you need to restore it using Archive explorer.
