FSAUtility - but for e-mail?

This issue has been solved. See solution.

I am familiar with the fsautility for restoring files and / or placeholders for File Server archiving.

I am looking for a similar tool for E-mail archiving.  I have moved a few users to the Vault - and need to get everything back OUT of the vault, and do NOT want to manually click on each message (or highlight all messages in a folder and click Restore from vault).

Is there such a utility?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Murr,

As far as I am aware the only way you can achieve your goal here is to right click on archives in the admin console and select export, from within the export wizard you can select export to original mailbox or pst.

once all restored you can delete the archive, as an export like a restore from vault still leaves the item in the archive it does not get deleted on restore, unless you select this option on exporting pst in the wizard when you specify a path.

If you find you have shortcuts left in the mailbox you can perform an advanced search on the mailbox for the message class of the shortcut which is IPM.Note.Enterprisevault.shortcut, but ensure you know the original is make in the mailbox

Blue Nose.

That is perfect - thank you.  That is exactly what I needed.

I did get a TON of duplicates though....
Is that normal?
