  • 1.  Functioning hard drive causing imaging failures?

We recently received some HP dx2450 computers and after some irritating uploading/imaging problems I have come to the conclusion that the hard drive is what is causing the problem. This was after having to hunt down an nVidia NDIS driver that would work in pxe. My question is whether anybody can tell me any possible reasons why I can't image one hard drive (that works perfectly fine otherwise) but when I swap it out with a hard drive from an HP dx5150 model, I can image just fine? It's become quite a pain and since we have 22 or so of these models waiting to be imaged, I'm hoping someone can give me ideas or possibly a work around so that we don't have to waste a lot of man hours in manually imaging these machines. Anything would be helpful at this point. Thanks.

The non-working hard drive is a Seagate Barracuda found here.

The working hard drive is a Western Digital Caviar found here.

There doesnt' appear to be much of a difference between those drive models. You might try changing your SATA mode in BIOS to a legacy or AHCI mode and see if that helps your cause.
