Hello,

I have a Service Desk 7 up and running.
I need to change the generic Reply Address of the email server but don't know where to find it.
Has anyone done this change before?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

David

The chances are that there is

The chances are that there is a global variable that needs to be changed and this may not be a simple console setting change. This will be embedded within one of the workflows that drives email response and creation. As a guess maybe the SD.Emailcreation  process or SD.Email.inboundmanagement process. Open them up and see what data is in each process this may help.

i'd also like to understand

i'd also like to understand exactly where to change the email 'from' address after having installed the service desk.

I'd like this information to be part of the standard documentation and NOT have to pay a consultant to learn or visit me to be able to do something this simple !

Having someone charge me $200 and hour to configure what in todays industry standard applications would mean going to a configuration window making a change and having the system apply the change after saving the setting (something like Helpdesk 6.x) is what i am expecting !

As you can see from all the

As you can see from all the email component, the [from] address is extracted from [service_desk_settings_mail_from_address] property, that is coming from ServiceDeskSettings. It might take a while. I did change the inbox address for email monitoring, and it took quite a long time to see the changes took place. Try to restart IIS.
