    Hello,

I have installed SEP 12.1 as a test rollout on a Windows 2008 R2 server. It has five clients.

Here is the issue I am having: I am trying a Push Install to a Windows 7 32bit client. The installation always fails. I try to run a Deployment Report to figure out what is happening. The Report shows no failed installations, and only three installed clients. I would like to get the Reporting working in the hopes it can tell me why the install is failing. Any ideas on where I can start troubleshooting? Thanks.

On the Windows 7 machine, have you followed this guide?:

About preparing Windows computers for remote deployment

Probably it is not the installation that is failing, but the push to the remote client.

it would fail if windows firewall / UAC is enabled.

run the migration and the deployment wizard, it would give u msgs like No network provider accepted the given path.

OK, I have check both links provided. Unfortunately neither has lead me to a solution. I am connecting with a domain administrator account. Using the Client Deployment Wizard, the connection test works properly, but the installation fails. I could not find a Migration and Deployment Wizard. I found a Migration Wizard under Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Tools in the Start menu and the Client Deployment Wizard in the SEPM console. There is not trace of the install in the Event Manager on the client PC.

    Any other thoughts?

Client Deployment Wizard is the correct wizard for 12.1. Is there a SEP_INST.log or SIS_inst.log anywhere on the client machine, such as under %temp% or %systemroot%\temp?

Sandra: Neither log file exists on the client PC

Rafeeq: I tried Chetan's suggestion to change the login credential for the SEPM service. I even made sure to use the same domain admin credentials when prompted by the Client Deployment Wizard. The install still fails.

More information: The installer isn't getting very far. When Task Manager is run while attempting deployment, there are no new processes started. Also no spike in CPU or memory use.

Thank you both for all of your suggestions.
