Is there a way to get notifications when a message is rejected due to size?

We are currently limiting inbound messages to 10MB or less and would like to notify recipients when an e-mail addressed to them was denied due to size.

I tried creating a policy that would send a notification when a message exceeded that size, but it didn't work. I imagine that it is rejected before policies are applied.

    Hi,

If you set the "Maximum message size in bytes" at the host config and the inbound mail is over that limit there is no way to apply eg a content rule - your're right.

You could set a higher limit in the host config and create a content rule deleting mails greater a certain size and notifying the recipient.

The bad news there is that the message gets transported to smg. If you don't have any trouble with internet bandwith that should be your sollution.
