  • 1.  Getting error when Importing agent from Unix

    Posted Feb 25, 2013 04:46 AM

    Hi,

I am very new at the Symantec CCS software. We recently installed the components of CCS on a VM with the following config

Windows server 2008 service pack 2

AMD Opteron 6282 SE 2.60 GHz and 4 GB ram

I'm getting a few inconsistent errors with CCS

On our Unix server I created a esm user and group. When I install the agent and upload to the master server a few of my servers fails with ' the specified directory service attribute or value already exists'

The problem with this is that the servers I'm trying to import are new servers that was recently built. I have however also experienced this error on one of my existing servers that I re-installed from scratch.

To fix this I had to create the asset manually, but it does not give the same output as one that was imported correctly where the agent creates the asset?

Forgot to add we are running Control Compliance Suite 11.0.546.10000

Did you try to run the job "Import Registered Agents" from the Agent management tasks in the Manage>Agents view of the CCS console?  If you have your ESM Agents registered correctly to the CCS Manager, then this should import the asset appropriately.
