Symantec Management Platform (Notification Server)

I have a test PC with Server 2003 and trying to download and setup NS but keeping going in circles. The documentation I've read tells me that I need to setup NS first and to download AICM (Altiris Installation and Configuration Manager) but it is not in the download page. I will install SQL Server 2005 Express first per the prerequisites. Thank you for your assistance.

Just to make sure you are installing NS6 correct? The AICM comes sort of "bundled" with anything you get direct from the Altiris\Symantec download site. It includes a prerequisite checker and helps pull down other solutions. That being said, it is not my preferred method for installing Altiris, and in some cases it can be problematic.
If you meet the prereqs (you actually read the manuals before installing !!! ) and get SQL installed, you can simply download the the Altiris_NS_6_0.exe from http://solutionsam.com/solutions/6_0/ and this will install the NS. Once that is done, you can install any other solution via the solution center link within the NS.

Yes, install SQL (and IIS of course), and then run the file I mentioned above. Then once the NS console is up, I use the solution center to install each solution as I need it.
