    Posted Aug 29, 2013 09:49 AM

    Hello Folks,

I have added some email templates in our Workflow and am trying to Publish it in our Dev environment, but I am getting error as mentioned below:

Failure, Reason: The request channel timed out while waiting for a reply after 00:02:59.9238252. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request or increase the SendTimeout value on the Binding. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout.

Server 'XXXXXXXX': Failure, Reason: The socket connection was aborted. This could be caused by an error processing your message or a receive timeout being exceeded by the remote host, or an underlying network resource issue. Local socket timeout was '00:05:59.8929893'.

Failure, Reason: The socket connection was aborted. This could be caused by an error processing your message or a receive timeout being exceeded by the remote host, or an underlying network resource issue. Local socket timeout was '00:05:59.8929893'.

I have logged off, rebooted the server even tried to publish the workflow with a different user id but the error is still the same. Would greatly appreciate any help provided in resolving this issue.

    Thanks

Which version of Workflow are you using?

Also, unsure if you're using Enterprise Mangement on the SMP or just have your dev server as something unmanaged. If unmanaged, it could be a DNS issue, and you might want to change machine name to IP or vice versa for that server in your Local Machine Info editor.

    Hello Reecardo,

Thanks for your reply, we are using WF 7.1...  yes we are using Enterprise Mangement on the SMP, however we just notice that the work has been published and I am sure that nothing was done after the issue was identified.

Does it mean that even if we get errors workflow will be published?

I would check your workflow to see if it looks like it's running properly. It's possible that the files got delivered, but property values weren't marked up, or something similar.

    Hello Reecardo,

We have tried changing the Local Machine Info to IP Address (it was machine name earlier) however, it is still throwing the same error if we try to publish.

When you say checking the workflow files, where should they be checked and compared with what? Are we referring to the location:

    On Local Machine:
    D:\Program Files\Symantec\Workflow\WorkflowDeploy\Release on Local Machine
    OR
    C:\Users\XXXXXXXX\AppData\Local\Symantec\Workflow\Repository\

    On Workflow Server:
Unable to find workflow files at any location.

    Thanks

    Hello All,

Adding to the issue mentieond above, we did some digging and have found that this just affects 2 users, the other 2 (we have total 4 users in Dev System) users have no issue publishing their work in the same enviroment. Could anyone shed some light as to what could be the issue.

    Any help is much appreciated
