Hi Raj,
Steps which will guide you in adding drivers for NIC or MASS STORAGE to WINPE.
If it is already supplied, check the box to include that driver.
Note: If you are using the WinPE version, you may want to disable any drivers that you do not need so that you do not exceed the space requirement.
Make a note Raj eventhough your machine is WIN 7, you need to download the drivers for Vista.
Reason is WIN 7 works in Vista platform.
Check for the device ID in the .inf file.
After you downlaod the correct drivers extract it and then add the extracted folder.
If the driver you need is not included:
-
Open the Ghost Boot Wizard.
-
Select Windows PE
-
Click Edit.
-
Select the WinPE version you would like to edit. See the note below for information on the different versions.
-
Click Copy (Note: It is important to not modify the default wim files. If they become corrupt due to manipulation a reinstall will be required to repair them)
-
Give a name to your new wim file.
-
Depending on the type of driver you would like to add, go to the "Network Drivers" or "Storage Drivers" section.
-
Look through the list to see if the driver you need is already supplied.
-
-
Click Add New Driver
-
Browse to the location of the NIC or Storage driver you would like to add.
-
Type a name of your choosing in the "Friendly Name" field.
-
Check the Applicable Operating System.
Note: The Applicable Operating System for WinPE is Vista.
-
Click OK.
-
Click OK to exit the add drivers screen and create the new custom Windows PE boot package.
-
Select the newly created WinPE package and click Edit to reenter edit mode.
-
Check the box for the driver you have just added.
-
Click OK
NOTE: If you intend to use the new WinPE driver with the Ghost Console, you must configure the Console to use the new driver. See below under ' If you are using the Ghost console... '.
NOTE: In some cases, after you have added a new driver, you must go back into the driver list and make sure it is still checked. First, finish adding the driver. Then, go back and check on it.
