Ghost 11 install on Windows Server 2008 R2

Created: 16 Oct 2012 | 1 comment

Hello, I'm hoping that I can find some possible insight before I go and install Ghost. We are currently using Ghost 11 on a 2003 server and want to replace the server and migrate it to a new hardware which will be running Windows server 2008 R2 64bit. Would Ghost cast server run fine on this platform? The system requirements did not list this server os platform in the installation section.

Thank you,

Ghost 11 is quite an old version, and even the latest available release,, is several years old and only the 2266 build fully supports Windows 7, which is the equivalent code family to 2008 R2.

I cannot suggest anything other than to give it a try in your environment and see how it works. Please also bear in mind that V11 came with DOS compatibility only, so unless you have your own WinPE implementation set up, you are likely to run into increasing difficulties handling modern hardware which DOS does not support (eg SATA).
