Ghost 11 on Windows XP3 Pro. Unable to bind to Port 67 ??

Created: 18 Nov 2012 | 3 comments

I've tried various things. I installed 2 different DHCP server on the XP box. Each listening on 67 (bootps) On at a time of course.

TFTP start OK. PXE starts but pop up message says: 10048 Unable to bind socket to port 67. (MS Firewall off)

Does Ghost 11 run on Windows XP sp3 Pro?

Any help welcome.

Thanks

Milton

Can you provide the full revision information on your Ghost version?

There should be no issue that I am aware of in running either 11.0.xxx or 11.5.xxx on XP.

Have you tried on a clean XP build with no antivirus or antispyware programs running?  Something else could be blocking port 67 so what have you tried to identify any such issues?

Hi EdT,

Thanks for reply. Yeah, you'd have thought it should go OK.

I've put all the version screen shots into the .doc attached.

Also has screen shots of running processes.
I have Firewall off. No anti-virus running as the network is purley internal. Never see the WWW.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Milt.

Have you actually tried typing "Port 67" into the forum search engine at the top of the page?  I found several past postings which identified the cause of this issue in different environments - one of those may relate to yours.
