    OK.
I'm tired of wasting CD's and DVD's on this stupid product. I'm trying to make a Winpe boot disk that will restore an image automatically. I was told no you can't do that cause it's too big for one DVD. OK. So, I created the boot cd and then re-created my image directly to a DVD with no spanning. I boot with the Winpe, and do a local, from image, but Ghost tells me that my single image is not the first in the set!! How can it not be the first in the set when it's the only one in the set????
I'd really like to be able to add the image to the winpe disk and have it restored automatically using the various command lines, but I need to get past this first mess.
    Any help would be appriciated.
    Thanks
    Bob

CD/DVD are a bit tricky once you know the ISO 9660 standard. Then you'll understand that many vendors (not just on Windows) are doing incompatible things when it comes to writing out compliant CD.
It is not that it is too big for one DVD, it is that at present Ghost boot wizard will use same mechanism for packing additional user files into a boot package: whether it is USB/CD or PXE - it will unpack WIM file and will inject all files into that WIM. This feature was not designed to handle images - just additional user files like executable of some sort. However since people are wanting to use it in a different way now we have redesigned it such that additional files added via GBW will be simply added to the media not to the WIM file. This is not out yet but will come out with the next Live Update. Then you would be able to directly add those images via GBW and it will burn them to DVD for you. Then you should have no problems accessing files because GBW will be using compatible ISO creation method.
Coming back to your questions - what software yo uuse to burn DVD with?
    Thanks.

I've used Roxio to write the ISO to DVD,  and I've used Ghost to write directly to the DVD and to a network share. I've copied the image from the share to dvd, I've used the DVD that Ghost wrote to and I still get the message that the image file is not the first in the set. I can't understand why I'm getting the error message when it's the only image in the set, it's one single image. I've used Ghost Explorer to combine split images into one, and that still doesn't work, it says it's not a valid Ghost image.
What I'm trying to accomplish is a automated way to restore an image for disaster recovery, in case a meteor hits our servers for example, so we'd have a way of getting some systems back up and running. This needs to be done so a non-technical person will not have to struggle through the Ghost menu to try and choose the image they want to restore.
It's very frustrating, especially when you read an article in the knowledge base that tells you step by step how to insert your image into WinPE and that was before Ghost included WinPE as a PreOS option.
