Hi, i havim a have 2 problems.

1º - If im restore the ghost images w/ ghost in DOS, the error are "decompression error", but if i use ghost32 they work. Im try using HD in IDE, SATA, NTFS or FAT32 and not work the restore in ghost for DOS.

2º - If im create a "image file discription" in ghost DOS, they not show the description correctly. For example: if i write "Image of windows xp, word and excel of machine TESTE", they show only "Image of windows xp, wo", but if write the discriptions in GHOST32 they work correct...

Sorry my english, im braziliam.

Hi Beto,

Decompression error means a failure to decompress data from a compressed image. Usually this means that the data read from the image is some how corrupted. It can happen if the image is corrupted. But in your case image should be OK since Ghost32 can restore it. Where do you have the image? Is it stored in a network location? If that's the case, what network driver is used? I have seen this happening with CDs/USBs as well as with network locations under DOS since the drivers for DOS are getting old now.

Truncating the image description by Ghost.exe is a defect I think.

Krish,

In your last paragraph, you say...

"Truncating the image description by Ghost.exe is a defect I think."

Are you referring to the fact that the description field gets truncated when you use the "DOS" version of Ghost 11.5?  If so, do you know when this will be fixed?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim,

This should be available with the next update of Ghost. We will post a message in the forum when it is available. Do you need it urgently?

I don't need it urgently.  It's just an annoyance.  Do you have a projected date when the next update will be available?
