KB suggests running Live Update to get Ghost Boot Wizard to build 2141. Problem: Live Update does not find update for GBW (now 2113). Just installed latest LU. How can I get GBW 2141?

Run LU and it will pull an update - usually to your desktop. Run it manually. And then repeat same procedure two more times to get all 3 LUs. LU doesnt apply to trial builds.

I have run Live Update manually, from the Help menu in Ghost Console, 3, 4 times in a row. While Ghost is shown as an app to be updated, and it is a registered production version of Ghost, Live Update does not return with the update for Ghost Boot Wizard, that would supposedly include the drivers causing backups to fail when they try to boot the Ghost partition on the client machine.

Is there any other way to get this update? Do you have a workaround?

Open Ghost Explorer and go to About Ghost explorer, what version does it have there?

Also what model of PC are you trying to image?

I am reopening this thread because I still have no solution. Backups on newer model Dell computers fail "to virtual partition" because of missing drivers, mostly newer disk drivers. A Knowledge Base article suggests that the problem can be solved by making sure that your version of the Ghost Boot Wizard is at least 2141. I have tried repeatedly to get this from Live Update, while running Ghost Console 11.5.0.2113. Finally, I got an newer version of the Boot Wizard, but still only 2125.

How can I get Boot Wizard version 2141 so that I can see if it fixes my problem?

Still, what version of ghost explorer do you have? GBW will not always show the correct version, Ghost Explorer will. So what version do you have?

That might well be the problem, when Live Update runs it should update all of the applications. Your Ghost Explorer should be 2165.

Myself I always run the Live Update from Ghost explorer (it will update the other GSS programs as well). And as Eugene said if it doesn't want to work it should at least download them to the desktop where you can run it manualy.

Should the above fail I would consider reinstalling.

I also know there are posts from about a year ago related to live update not working you could try searching for.

I have run Live Update from the console several times in one session with no updates. I have run Live Update manually (running the .exe file) several times consecutively with no updates.

At one point I had been led to believe that I had installed some much earlier version of Ghost Suite, misinformation from Customer Support which has now been corrected, so I did a complte uninstall and re-install from a fresh download. This was about 4 weeks ago. I got version 2113 again then. Repeated attempt to update did get me to version 2125 of Ghost Boot Wizard, but that has been the only update.

I am also running other Symantec applications on the same server (EndPoint Protection, Mail Security) which do get updates from Live Update.

I will try the search you suggest. Meantime, I have tried to get to FileConnect to see if there are any downloads that will be helpful. Another obstacle as the site will not advance beyond the "I agree" button.
