Greetings,
I am trying to take a backup of what will be my base image for a new Windows 7 x64 bit deployment image. The computer is currently in audit mode and does not have the Altiris agent installed. I am booting the computer into automation using a USB boot drive. When I run the Backup Image task from the Altiris console, I get a breif prompt on the target machine:
X:\>\\"servername.domain\Deployment\Task Handler\ghost\GhConfig32.exe" /findactivewindows 1>X:\gHConfig32.txt
Once I get this prompt in a command window on the target manchine, the task fails in the Altiris console. I have tried testing by taking a backup image of another machine, and it works fine. The only difference between the systems is the following:
- target machine is in audit mode
- target machine is Windows 7 64bit (assume this shouldn't matter when I have the computer in automation)
- Altiris does not yet recognize the target machine host name as it does not have the agent installed. When I send the Backup Image task, I have to send it to the generic minint-XXXXX name. On the target test machine that worked previously had the agent installed so would send the Backup Image task to the computer's proper host name
Any idea why I cannot take a backup image from the computer that is currently in Audit mode?
Thanks,
Greg
