    Hello,

I'm very familiar with Ghost boot wizard and 3com boot services. Normally I use PC DOS instead of WinPE in the boot wizard in GSS 2.5 to create boot client image disk to use with PXE. Now that I have installed Windows 2008 server on my machine, I'm trying to use the Ghost Console so I could experiment in using DeployAnywere feature that's available in GSS. However, when I use WinPE to create console client boot image it creates different kind of boot image that is not .sys file as the traditional when using PC-DOS and .sys that was created under the TFTPROOT in windows XP. I know how to work my way around to create the boot menu files, bootab in the 3com boot service and PXE and sucessfully connected to server, cloned and restore images. but now, it's totally a different way of configure the PXE server and I'm not sure how to configure my PXE server with this new folder called "boot" inside my TFTPBOOT folder and contains some files such as btmgr etc.. Any suggestions would help.

    Thanks,

    Ahmed

    Hi Ahmed,

That's the cool thing about Winpe boot - Ghost boot wizard (GBW) takes care of everything for you. The only thing you need to do is to create an entry in bootptab for your machine and point to boot\pxeboot.n12 file. This file is put in boot folder by GBW together with other files and massaged boot entry for you.

    Cheers.

    Hi Eugene

You're absolutely correct, and that took care all of my questions and using the WinPE is alot easier and quicker than the 3com boot services.

Thank you very much for your quick response.
