We just recently updated to the 2296 patch and we did not have this problem before the update.  When we deploy a newly created image using the machine configuration. We get a Configuration error of Error opening registry. FS error : File or directory does not exist. And the Ghost task session will not force a restart of the client. If you manually reboot the unit it restarts and the sysprep will configure the computer without the configuration name from the Ghost server.

Does anyone have a solution to this.

I think you need to speak with Symantec support regarding this problem with the 2269 patch.

I think it has something to do with the database. If you delete the machine number database entry and recreate it. It will work.

The 2269 patch has got nothing to do with the console and database . My suggestion is that you could try to run the configuration task seperately to check how it works.
