Ghost Solution Suite

We are having an issue with Ghost explore opening an image file. The ghost explore version is 11.5.0.2113 I do not know off hand what version of ghost that we used to create the image. The OS of the image is XP SP3. Basically what is happening is I opened the image on Friday and everything looked great, now on Monday I open the same image and it appears to start opening then immediately closes. No errors, nothing in the event viewer. We create images all the time with no problems so it is not a one time thing. Has anyone else seen this and have a suggestion to retrieve the data? I just need to retrieve the favorites and desktop. Thank you in advance for any help that anyone can provide.

I have seen similar postings to yours here before. What medium is the image stored on?

Your image appears to have suffered some form of corruption since you last viewed it, and this could be caused by storage on a low cost USB drive (which are known to error out quite frequently).

The solution may be to try and restore the image to another drive, and hope that the content you require gets restored before the recovery process errors out.

If you have GSS 2.5, the latest version via LiveUpdate is 11.5.1.2266, so it may be prudent to ensure that you have updated your master install to the latest version and then try using the Ghost Explorer from there.

Please check whether you have multiple instances of ghost explorer open, via task manager. If so please close all those and try again. This is just a guess.

We are currently using the network share as the meduim. So far this is the first time we have had this problem. I hoping to find out if there is some method that we can open the image. I have tried restoring it to a machine but it fails at 34 percent with an app error of 19235. Also we do not have multiple instances of ghost explore open and the same thing happens each time I open that image file. Once again thank you for all your help....

It does not look promising. Try running CHKDSK on the network volume holding the file in case it's something the filesystem can fix.

Just to eliminate this is not network issue, can you please try coping image locally (on another partition,external drive or on pen drive) and give it a try? Does integrity check passes for this image?
