  • 1.  Ghost Folder on X:drive

How does the ghost folder get copied to the X: drive. I have different boot.wim files that I use, but the vista one is the only that gets the ghost folder pushed to it from the pxe boot. I can build the folder in the wim file, but this increases the size of the .wim file and I am trying to keep it small as possible. Ghost doesn't have the folder in its .wim file, but the folder is present on the X: drive once the machine is net booted from the vista 2.0 pe. I tried different copy commands, but to no avail. I have a win7 PE with the drivers, but the only way to get it to boot into the console is to include the start.bat, ghost32, ngctw32, and other files into the wim file. It is there something i am missing? The system will push the ghost folder to vistaPE, but not win7.

Solved it, I was able to locate the answer on a similar thread. The Ghost folder is included in the boot.wim file, but there are two image files, the Ghost files are located on the second image file. I had to change the software that I was using to mount the boot.wim files. I am using GimageX v2, previously i used WAIK to mount the files.
