I have a problem with Ghost freezing, seems identical symptoms as described here: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/ghost-console-freeze

I'm running a fresh install of Win XP Pro SP3 x32 on a Dell Latitude E6500, Core 2 Duo P8700, 4GB RAM, Ghost console version 11.5.1.2266.  On launching the ghost console, the computer locks up, does not respond to any mouse or keyboard input, becomes unreachable on the network for about 5-10 minutes.  After that it snaps back to life with no apparent problems, the ghost console and the rest of the computer behave as normal.

I've performed a liveupdate of ghost, its at the latest version.  I reinstalled XP just yesterday in an attempt to get ghost working (I was experencing this same behavior prior to reinstalling), it didn't help.  Both windows and ghost are in a pretty much clean state.

I can't do a lot of probing to work out exactly what ghost is getting hung up on, the computer is completely unusable while locked.  Any advice?

If you have already tried the suggestions in the other thread that you referenced, then you could try running Procmon while starting the console, as this should give you an indication of which process or processes are hogging all the available CPU time

    Hi,

It seems to be the problem of New Intel Martix AHCI controller issue addressed in build 2269. Please get the patch from Tech Support and try. Let me know your observation.
