  • 1.  Ghost restore problem

A couple of years back I bought a PC. It developed some problems, which turned out to be motherboard related, and I had to replace it. Since the original MB is out of production, I had to use a compatible one. When I put everything back together, the system asked me for the recovery CD, which I loaded. The discovery CD started Symantec Ghost, but ended up with an error message. I followed the error message and it seems to be due to the fact that the hardware is not precisely the same as a new PC (MB changed). Now I have a working PC, but no OS, since Ghost will not install it. What can I do?

which version of ghost are you using? In order to restore your PC, you should have an image file. without this file, you can not restore. you might have an image file on recovery CD or diagnostic partition.
