Ghost Solution Suite 2.5 License - Trialware

Hi

I have a trial version of Ghost solution which i donwloaded last week and have tried to add the license key to Ghost console but recieve the following error:

 This is the second file i have tried from Symantec support and get the same error. Any suggestions?

How are you adding the trial license?

I'm adding the license as follows:

Open Symantec Ghost Console

Choose 'Help'

Select 'Register Console'

Choose 'Browse' and select the license file (from the desktop)

Then click'OK'

As soon as i click OK i get the above error

The email i got from Symantec support also stats the same steps

OK, let's take a step back and check a couple of things.

1. What operating system are you installing the trial edition of Ghost on?

2. Are you installing Ghost Solution Suite 11.5  ?  Have you tried a second download in case there was a problem with any of the files in your original download?  If you are testing the version of Ghost that ships in the DS software deployment tool, then the GSS trial license would not be compatible.

There are contact details for tech support in one of the sticky postings at the top of this forum - specifically the one about Ghost patches.  If this problem persists then perhaps a call to them would get a solution quicker.

We've installed the trial on a Windows Server 2008 R2 test machine. Does it only support Server 2008 and not R2?

The version being shown within Ghost Console is 11.5.1.2266. This has been removed and reinstalled with a fresh trial download.

I don't know what the DS software deployment tool is so i'd say no i'm not using this version.

Try it on an XP or Win 7 workstation - if you still have license issues, then you need to contact support. If you don't have license issues, then it may well be an issue with the setup of the server, and we can explore this further.

If you are trying the register the trail version ,with the actual license file you received for full version ,then that is the cause.Trial version could not be upgraded.Open the license file with notepad ,you will find the serial number which starts with 'M' between the <Serial> tag.Visit ,

http://fileconnect.symantec.com/ and enter the serial to download the 2.5.1 version.Use Https download instead of managed.Install the same ,after uninstalling the trialware,and register the console.
