I cannot get the standard tools to work properly. Specifically, Ghost Boot Wizard.exe and Ghost Explorer. If I try to launch the boot wizard, I see the task in Task Manager, but it never appears. This happens consistently on all the machines I have tried, and it doesn't matter the patch level. Once this happens, I pretty much have to press and hold the power button - I can't even launch any other exe files and I cannot kill it in Task Manager.
When I launch Ghost Explorer, I can view an image file, as I should be able to. If I close out and try to launch again to view another image file, my computer hangs and I have to press and hold the power button.
I am using a Dell Optiplex 755 with Windows XP SP3, and fully patched. My security software is Symantec Endpoint Compliance v11.5. I have gone into the bios and disabled the No Execute option (hardware DEP), but it's not that either.
Thanks,
Joel
