    All,

I'm working on a project on deploying Windows 7. I'm at the point where I created the Windows 7 to where I'm comfortable. All I need to do is clean it up, sysprep, then capture the image (locally to USB). Currently we have an old version of Ghost (8?) where I created the boot disc, did a (local from USB) Disk > To Image, saved it, now try to a Disk > From Image, dumped it onto a same model Dell e6510, it loads "successfully", but upon boot it, it does a blue screen/reboot loop.

Anyone have this issue? I'm in the process of procuring the latest Ghost Solutions Suite, but the trialware doesn't allow me to explore this option. It allows you to capture the image, but not restore it.

Can anyone help? I'm trying to begin deployment soon.

    THanks!

    Hello,

Windows 7 has recovery and os partition. I hope image has both the partition since it is required to boot the machine into operating system.  I would recommand to try with GSS 2.5.1 build 2266 version of ghost. because GSS 2.5.1 is practically and officially supported Windows 7 and Windows Server  2008 R2 operating system.

Trial version of GSS 2.5.1 build 2266 has full functionality with timebound (30 days) and should restore the image without any issue. I believe  there is source and destination selection issue in your case and hence you are facing the issue. Please try and let me know.

If you look closely at the Windows 7 partition structure, there is a small 100Mb "system" partition as well as the main "O/S" partition. Both are required in order to have a bootable machine.

You can either make a true DISK image rather than a PARTITION image, or you could create two separate partition images.

what is the error on the blue screen?  Or is it just boot looping?  Are you trying to sysprep it too?  Make sure you copy the entire disk, not just the partition you want.
