    Hi,

If someone was able to help me with this I would be over the moon, as I have spent the last three days wasting about 30 CD's trying to get this to work.

I am using the Ghost Solution Suite and am getting tired of having to create different boot floppy disks for different machines. Because we have loads of different machines I can only fit so many NIC templates onto the two floppy disks hence I have several boot floppys. I have now been trying to create a bootable CD or DVD that has Ghost.exe on it and has drivers for loads of different NICs. I have searched the web and cannot find any answers that are specific to my issue.

At the last try, I created a network boot package using a multicard template and used PC DOS. This created the two floppy disks, the first being the boot disk with all the drivers on it and the second holding the ghost.exe file.

I edited the Autoexec.bat to remove the parts that ask you if you booted from a floppy or a cd so that ghost would just load automatically. I also edited the config.sys to remove the same stuff.

I then used NERO OEM Suite (the most recent version) to create a boot cd and used the boot disk created earlier (the 1st floppy disk) as the boot image. It burns away quite happily but when I actually boot from the CD it says (as it would when booting from the floppy) Starting PC DOS........... however after this I get this error:

    Detecting PCI Network Card
    Locating PCI BIOS ....... Found
    Searching
    Unable to find Network Card

I dont know why it stops at Intel Pro 1000 as I know that the drivers on the CD are correct for the machine I am trying to build as I can do it from the floppy disks with the same driver.

The last place I worked we had a boot cd (created by someone else who wont loan me the disk aarrrghhhh!) that did exactly what I want to do. It basically looked on the disk for the appropriate drivers then loaded ghost.

Anyway, if anyone could explain how to do what I need that would be amazing.

    Cheers,

i have not tried this yet but you could use GSS to create a usb boot disk, then take an iso of that usb drive and try burning it to a CD.

i forgot to ask, what network cards do you have out there that you need drivers for?
