Ok so I ghosted this laptop from the USB drive using local. Everything worked golden until I checked out the image I went to the my computer and noticed my thumb drive was on the image? And no the thumb drive was not plugged in (hehe) But this a big problem for me because I have software on here that is assigned to this letter and  now the thumb driver over written it. So my question is: is there anyway around ghosting a image on local from a USB so that the thumb drive will not stay on the image? Thank in advanced everyone.

Ghost only images what you

Ghost only images what you asked it to. Whether it is an entire disk or just a single or few partitions. Thumb drive is no different. It is an entirely new disk and unless you selected it as part of the clone process it will never be included in the GHO. However if you are using GSS 2.5 (and I dont know since tou dont say) then you have an option to image all of your disks as one drive. Ghost calls this "OS volumes" disk and this "virtual" drive includes all volumes mounted by your OS - kind of like full system backup. This disk is stored as a GPT disk in the GHO.
