    Hello,

What's the best way of obtaining the latest ghost.exe (DOS based client)?  Norton Ghost 12 doesn't have ghost.exe that GSS 2.0 comes with, it's all Windows based and not quite made for the same thing.

So how can I obtain GSS 2.0's version of ghost.exe, because we don't really need GSS, but a functional and modern DOS client?

    Thanks,

    Shawn

    Hi Shawn,

Ghost.exe is not available separately, it only comes with GSS.

I think the smallest one you can buy is the 5 client version.

If all you want is the DOS Ghost client and none of the other parts of Ghost, there are many other free (and commercial) products out there that can easily handle it.  To me, the strength of Ghost isn't in the client's functionality (although I admit *nothing* happens w/out a solid client.)  It's the Console and secondarily the Ghostcast Server.

When I want "just ghost.exe" (and no console and no ghostcast server) functionality, I use the free DriveImage XML.

Apologies to Symantec for reference to competitor product :)
