Going from Symantec Endpoint Unmanaged to Using SEP Management Console

Created: 02 Jan 2013 • Updated: 23 Jan 2013 | 4 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

We currently have Symantec installed on each workstation unmanaged and would like to purchase, install, implement Symantec Mangement Console.  What would be the best way to accomplish this? Can we simply install the management console and have the existing client converted to being managed?

Since you are Running Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1, here is a quick article you may need to follow -

Converting an unmanaged client to a managed client

Hope that helps!!

yes, thats the way to do it.
make the clients managed by copying sylink files to the unmanaged clients to report to SEPM.

Install the management console and from here you can either replace the sylink file on the umanaged clients to make them managed or depending on what version they're on, you can upgrade to latest release.
