  • 1.  Group differnt keys from one user

    Hello,

    I´m using  PGP Desktop 10.
In my keyring I have a lot of keys from differnt persons. And several persons have more than one key.

Is it possible , that there is only one entry for each person and if I "open" the person I can see the differnt keys?

    Thanks

    Heiko

People can have as many keys as they want/need.  They can have as many User ID's on each key as they need for each email address they have, etc.  The key can also be signed by anyone who wants to verify that the key belongs to who it is suppose to belong to.  Please let me know if this does not answer your question.

    Hello Tom Mc,

that wasn´t that what I meen.

    I´ll make an example:
The list where I can see all the keys lokks like this:
      + Person A
         + Key
      + Person A
         + Key
      + Person B
         + Key
      + Person B
         + Key

    And what I want is:
      + Person A
         + Key
         + Key
      + Person B
         + Key
         + Key

    Is this possible?

I think I understand better.  Your concern is not people having more than one key, but you want keys to display in All Keys by person (each listed under one person's name) instead of by key?

The GUI does not currently have a way of doing this, and I'm not sure it is feasible.  For instance, keys having the same name in the user ID, may belong to different individuals with the same name; different User IDs on the same key may have different names (what name would the key be under); and any PGP user (including an attacker) can use whatever name in their User ID they wish. These are just off the top of my head, and might be able to be addressed.

However, you can request this as a Feature Request, and if you do, it will receive consideration.
