  • 1.  Group Update Provider in SEP SB 12

    Posted Apr 16, 2010 05:55 AM
Recently updated from SEP 11 to SEP SB 12.
I was really surprised with lot of operational changes in SEP manager.
Lot of configuration things is removed from manager.

There is no Live Update configuration for Group provider (client definition distributor)?
    Can someone help me?

Also, how can I define what content to be updated from Symantec.com on SEP manager?
I have all 32 bit clients so I don’t need win 64 versions? Is it possible to reconfigure this is SEP 12?
    Thanks in advance.

Inside SEPM its not possible to configure only 32 bit or 64 bit defs; both will be downloaded
if you have LU admin ; then you can select what to download

    Thank you Rafeeq.

Can You tell me, except this option, what is other advantages of using LU administrator with SEPM?

We are small company with 10-12 windows 2003 servers.
I just want to automate SEP manager (and also client definitions) updates in efficient way (network and local memory).

But there is lot of ‘besides scene’ work in SEP, which drivin me crazy.

    Thank you again
    Regards

For 12 machines ; Let sepm download defs; it will distribute it to clients
having LUadmin is not necessary as you have very less client
let your sepm go out for defs once in a day; and make the definitions revisions in DB to 5 ( will save space)
other than these not much is required.
