I'm using GSS 2.5 and when I try to run tasks that use an image on the client the local path evaluation fails with the message "Disk attributes evaluation failed to find a matching volume label". I've tried specifiying the image using both the volume label and the drive later and it fails either way. If I use an image on a UNC path it works fine. This is a new setup I built to mirror an existing setup that is working fine. The difference between the two setups is the workstations I'm trying to image are a newer model. I had to add drivers to get Windows PE to work, but the tasks are failing immediately before it even attempts to create the virtual partition. I'm at a bit of a loss here so any help would be appreciated. The clients are HP z820 workstations running Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit). Same OS as the working setup with HP z800 workstations.
Thanks in advance.
Have you added SATA drivers to your WinPE ? Without those, your WinPE session may not be able to "see" the hard disk(s).
I assume the UNC path is to a network resource, but correct me if I'm wrong.
The drives are SAS and WinPE sees everything fine. The path evaluation fails immediately in the OS and it never boots into WinPE. UNC path is indeed to a network resource. I can also save images locally on the Ghost server, it just doesn't work when I try to save to the client.
Are you running a UEFI bios, as there are known issues with UEFI that are addressed in a later release that is only available to users with a maintenance agreement.
