  • 1.  GSS v2.0.1 image creation, Internal Error 8027

    Posted May 29, 2007 02:47 AM
    Hi,
I'm trying to create an image using GSS v2.0.1.  On the Ghost server I start up GhostCast Server, I run sysprep v1.1 on the image computer and then boot the image computer from Ghost boot floppies created by the Ghost Boot Wizard (on the same machine as the GhostCast Server).  Everything looks ok until the image creation process starts when it comes up with the message Internal Error 8027.  I've defragged the filesystem and run chkdsk on the computer.  I've updated the Intel Pro1000 driver, I'm using an Intel DG965SS motherboard with Core 2 Duo processor.  The image computer is running Windows XP SP2 with all the latest patches.

I'd be grateful for any assistance with the image creation.  Below I'm including the contents of the Ghosterr.txt file.
    Thanks
    David

From the error file, I noticed that "A memory allocation failed"
It is stange since you should have enough memory since your machine seems be new machine.

if you have another spare hard disk or external hard disk,
can you try to create an image locally?

I am having the same problem.
    1. I used the parameters as recommended by Symantec, it didn't work
    2. Suspicion that it was BIOS causing this, I excluded by swapping the hard drives and the new hard drive could be imaged only that it did't have the programs I had put together. The new HDD is also SATA 80GB
    3. I took the original HDD from the other PC to another PC and started the PC  with the Floppies and just after connecting to the Ghostcast Server just failed!
    4. I run  Defrag and CHKDSK on the HDD as Symantec Tech Support suggested
    5. It can't be the memory otherwise 2 wouldn't have worked

There is something with this HDD which is causing this. It is not a wrong BIOS, it is not because it a SATA.

    I shall appreciate the solution.

    Thanks in advance

    Here Folks is the solution:

These messages appear to be due to problem with how Ghost performs caching. To resolve the problem, use the -WS- and -WD- switches to turn off Ghost caching:

Ghost.exe -ws- -wd- OR better try using all these switches

Ghost.exe -FNI -FFX -NOIDE -NOUSB -ws- -wd-

    It has worked with me.

    Good Luck and enjoy ghosting.
