GSS2.5 not updating via Live Update
Ive been having the problem with Ghost and 256bit inode sizes (for creating dual boot Linux/Windows images) and I know that there is an update (or three) for Ghost that fixes the problem. Ive attempted to download the updates through live update but keep getting the LU6004 error.
I figured maybe there was a conflict so I set up a clean WinXP SP2 machine to test. I installed GSS2.5 and Endpoint Security 11 MR4-MP1 (these and Firefox are the only programs installed on the system). Live update successfully update Endpoint, but failed to update GSS (Originally with an error that said there was not enough disk space with over 100GB free). I switched to Live Update to Interactive mode and set the error mode to Enhanced so I could get errors. I cleaned out the Settings.LiveUpdate files from the LiveUpdate folder and cleaned out the download cache then ran live update again giving the LU6004 error. It is worth noting that updates for Endpoint had no problem. Only the GSS update failed.
I updated Live Update manually off the website in hope that that would fix it (which was very diifcult to do without having to use Internet Explorer, poor form) and am currently running LiveUpdate 3.4.1.238.
I looked for a LiveUpdate part of the forums but it doesnt appear to exist.
Any ideas what else can be done to get Ghost to update?

Same here - GSS 2.5 (Build 2113) installed on Win2003 SP2.
At first it seemed to download updates, showed an error (didn't write it down), and now LU says that everything is up to date, but I'm still on 2113.

unable to update GSS 2.5 as well
I am stuck some where between 2113 and something higher. The live update patch process keeps blowing up with file not found messages from WSH. OS is WS08 SP2. Now live update says that the updates have been applied, but thye clearly have not.
Any Suggestions?

Any suggestion on how to get the latest version to (hopefully) fix the Smeutil driver error I am getting?

I'm running GSS 2.5 with Console version 11.5.0.2113, but when I try to run LiveUpdate I get error LU6004. I too am having the smeutil driver issue when running a deploy anywhere task and I want to update my console to try and fix it.

Contact Enterprise support directly for the updates. They will give you the URLs to download the patches.
LiveUpdate had issues for quite a while. The issue is at their end, not the client end. At the time of this writting, Symantec is still having issues with LiveUpdate (Live update error "LU1385 - Server did not respond...").
The version info is still a "mess" in some of the applications that Ghost SS 2.5 uses. Build 2165 applies to the GHOSTxx.exe files, Ghost Explorer, not the Ghost console. Build 2113 is the latest for the console.
Build #s after patch for build 2165 is applied, build #s:
Console: 2113
Server: 2113
Explorer: 2165
Ghost.exe 2165
Ghost32.exe 2165
Ghost64.exe 2165
Boot Wizard 2141
The list goes on for the different applications.

I am trying to update GSS 2.5 from 2113 to 2165. I assume LiveUpdate is not updating my product since the version number remains at 2113 after running the update process. As you suggested in your post above, I called Symantec support to retrieve the URL. I was transferred a total of 9 times (yes, 9 different people). The last person said they could not help me since I did not purchase support for GSS 2.5. They said to make a post on the forum and hopefully someone would assist me. I suggested I should not be required to purchase support just to get a product working properly, especially when I have purchased the product already and the problem is with Symantec, not me. No one agreed with my logic.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I too am having problems getting the latest versions of the console install and the client install. The older client I have makes windows 7 rtm blue screen, so I definitely need to update. :) We're currently running 11.5.0.2113 on the console.

Install them in ascending
Install them in ascending numerical order by the last four digits of the filename. ...2125.exe, then ...2141.exe, then ...2165.exe.

Link for product updates
We are running GSS 2.5 in a secure environment and can't connect the server to utilize live update services. Has any concession been made for customers operating in this enviornment who should be able to obtain these updates on secure systems that are not able to connect? If we can get the links to the download updates that will fix the issue today, but what about when the next updates are released? Is there a way we can get added to an email notification list to automatically receive the download links?
