Deployment Solution

I need both the Altiris 6.9 SP6 and 7.5 agents in an image, but I won't be deploying the image with either.  I have found an article that tells me to delete 3 GUIDS in the registry for 7.X

             HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Altiris\eXpress\MachineGUID

             HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Altiris\eXpress\NS Client\MachineGUID

             HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Altiris\Altiris Agent\MachineGUID

 

But what GUIDS do I need to delete to make sure the 6.9 agent works properly?

No GUIDs need deleting, the Computer is identified by the console using the combination of Primary Keys you set in Tools > Options > Global. You have the choice of one or more of:

• MAC Address
• UUID (unique GUID like id that should be in most modern BIOSes)
• Serial Number
• Asset Tag

If you will be using more than one Deployment Server you might want to remove the Server name or IP address from HKLM\Software\Altiris\eXpress.
