    Hi all;

    My SEP manager server is in another Country, I want to use local update providers to avoid network traffic problems, but only one GUP per update policy is allowed..

    So if Symantec recommends one GUP for every 100 computers and I've 1000 sep clients in the same location with one update policy only.

    What can I do?

    Is there no option to create a list of update providers?

    Thanks in advance for your answers

    Hi Hericksen,

    I would consider installing a second SPM because the GUP is designed for small offices. If you have multiple large location it is recommended to install an additional site. Check out "Installing and configuring Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager for replication" in the Installation Guide and

    "Managing single and multiple company sites" in the Admin Guide

    Hi,

    In addition to what was mentioned, you need to aware that GUP does not provide patches and upgrades. Patches and Upgrades need to come from a SEPM and this means pulling them through the WAN links that you operate.

    Alternatively, you can configure to pull these stuff through LiveUpdate.

    You may want to explore the new LiveUpdate Administrator version 2.1 found the second CD. You can make smart decision using the Location driven policies. If in site A, use Internal LU #1. If Iin site B, use Internal LU #2 and so on.

    OR you can have in Site A, get from SEPM. In site B, use Internal LU server at site B.

    It all depends on your design.

    Edit #1: BTW GUP in a policy cannot be inherited.
