I am constantly checking the liveupdate log using LiveupdateViewer, but i see the client connecting to Liveupdate.symantec.com, i have defined a GUP, and it is present in the registry 'masterclienthost - GUPservername'. how would the logs look if it connected to GUP.
In other words how do I know that GUP is updating the client. (more of Log related)

I run Sylink but i dont see the GUP info, in the Live Update Policy, get updates from SEPM and Live Update Server and GUP were checked.
I have only checked the SEPM and GUP for Live Update policy now .. it seemed to have stop going outside now.

since you unchecked it , they wont go to LU
however use sylink monitor to check if they are going to sepm or gup.

Also  assure that clients are received the correct policy. This you can verify with the help of policy sl. no
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which is the version you are using?
In older version there was some bugs related to this issue and it got fixed in RU5 .
Ref:Release notes for Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.x and Symantec Network Access Control 11.0.x
Migrating to Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 RU5

Note:While upgrading you have to upgrade all clients and SEPM for getting all the benefits of upgrading..

On any cleint run the sylink toggle and in the logs for serach for 2967 or the port that has been configured for GUP. if you have that entry it means that the client is going to the GUP for update.
