When I configure GUP some clients are not getting updated. we use version 12.1.4 everywhere (planning to update to 12.1.5)
We have different clients on different locations with low bandwith and 1 sepm at central. At every location I have 1 GUP also at central location (not the sepm). Connection from GUP to SEPM is fine, the SharedUpdates folder is created and filled whenever i change a policy.
I use the push mode as communictions setting.
In monitors/logs/system/clientActivity I can see all clients using Group update provider, but some won't update virus definitions. Some GUP's won't update as well others do fine.
I've configured following for the GUP (win 2K3):
multiple group update providers (checked), left the default port max disk cache is 2GB and max number of simult. is 25, I have set a max bandwith of 128 Kbps. Only update using GUP.
When I put the clients back to update from SEPM they won't do that as well. The only way to get them going is by once updating them with live update. Once they have the latest updates, the next day they update with SEPM it works fine.
To be clear it are not all clients, not related to one GUP. Some GUP's are updated with latest definitions, but clients who connect to that GUP are not. Some GUP's aren't updated but clients connecting to that one are???
What can i do? I read some articles about restarting the GUP's after applying, others told it's version 12.1.4 thats bad.
