Half of our 500 SEP clients are "offline" -- need to script the "import policy" routine
I've inherited a network with around 500 PC's. We've got a Symantec SEPM server, version 12.1. All of our clients have the SEP client software installed, but only about half of them are configured to look to the correct server for policy -- the other half are listed as "offline" (both on the server and client).
We can successfully import the correct policy by manually visiting the client and doing the help-troubleshooting-import routine, but that's a very time-consuming task. I'm wondering if there is a way to automate this? Perhaps via a script I can push out with LANDesk, or perhaps even login script?
I know it's possible to reinstall the clients, pushing from the SEPM server, but that seems like overkill as well, since all we need to do is update the policy on half of our clients. (I'm guessing the policy would be a very small file, compared to redeploying the entire client package)
In a nutshell -- is it possible to do the "help-troubleshooting-import communication settings" routine via batch or vb script, rather than visiting each workstation?
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Hello,
You can use the SylinkReplacer version_12.1 for getting all the clients back.
Using the "SylinkReplacer" Utility

To get that tool you will have to call symantec or log a web case.

Thanks for the advice. This sounds like exactly what I need. I've opened a ticket with support and I'll update this thread when I'm able to download and test the sylinkreplacer utility. Thanks again!
