How come SEP can't detect this Trojan (Hamweq M) but when I'm using CA Yahoo! Anti Spy, the Trojan was detected. CA can detect and delete it but the problem is, it keeps on coming back to its the same directory or path. So what I'm doing is I'm stopping the System Restore of Windows, the go to Safe Mode, disable all Windows Services, Disk Cleanup, then run scan on CA, reboot and then activate again system restore and windows services. I hope Symantec will find solution about this.

    Thank You.

If a file is suspicious and it is not getting detected...or it if it getting detected by some other Av.You need to submit that file to symantec security response to get the definitions for it..

I submitted a file yesterday that has Win32.Hamweq.A and the response back was that there was no suspious code.  Yet Microsoft Security Essentials finds it and cleans it.  This file has been a problem with us.

If you have a file (or files) that you've submitted and are coming back clean, please contact support.  We can look into the submission and work with development, if needs be, to get a second look on the file.  We're human, and, as much as we try not to, it's possible that we missed the detection in this file when we examined it.

Please have your tracking number handy when you call in, as the agent will need that to investigate further.
