Deployment Solution

In DS 6.9, I could view a computer's hardware profile - for example, its serial number.  The only hardware information I see is the NIC in 7.1.  What am I missing?  Is this information only available if we buy licensing for Inventory Solution?

The serial number is populated by Basic Inventory. So is posible to find this information at Aex_AC_Identification table. The basic inventory is sent by the Altiris Agent and don´t need additional plug-ins or solutions.

But if you need mode hardware information, like CPU, Baseboard, Memmory count, etc. You need the Inventory Solution installed on the SMP Server and the Inventory plug-in installed on your machines.

That at least gives me a way to find it for now.  May buy the inventory solution, as I saw what was available while we had a trial of that and it's much better 'reporting'.

For anyone with the same question:

- Manage -> Computers

- Double-click desired computer (Brings up resource manager)

- View -> Inventory

- In treeview, Data Classes -> Inventory -> Basic Inventory -> AeX AC Identification
