Client Management Suite

Can someone point me to the server hardware requirements to run Client Management Suite 7.1. We are also small enough that we will run the SQL server on the same box.

Is there a newer release on the horizon?

p131. They recommend 8 cores and 32GB RAM for up to 5,000 endpoints.

7.5 is due out, but not imminently.

Following are the minimun requirements (CMS 7.1+SQL)

CPU = Multi-Core CPU 2.0 Ghz or Greater or Xeon
 

Memory= 4 GB RAM
 

Disk Space = 20 GB Hard disk space
 

Disk speed = SAS 15K

Above are the minimum hardware requirements for altiris 7.1 SP2 however it will increase depending on your environement

Can anyone point the direction/recommend  to know ,the notification server should be physical/Virtual  server ,if  it should be physical  what was the reason ?Please help on my question

For SQL the guidance is "Running Microsoft SQL Server on virtual hardware is not recommended", for NS it can by physical or virtual, with the assumption SQL hosted elsewhere per the link in the first post (page 131).

With the support matrix it shows specifc details on support for virtulized palforms for NS, with support for ESX & Hyper-V (page 3).

For 1400 endpoints with went with a Dell R710, RAID 10 & 32 GB RAM (NS & on box SQL) and the performance has been mostly very good.
