    Hello folks, help needed !!

    Since we migrated to 7.5 we are getting a cast ERROR with generated components like "GetResourceTargetsComponent" or "AssignResourceTargetsToPolicy"

    Server was unable to process request. ---> Unable to cast object of type 'Altiris.PatchManagementCore.Policies.SoftwareUpdateAdvertismentSetPolicy' to type 'Altiris.NS.StandardItems.Policies.ClientConfigPolicy'.
    I have recompiled, and verified that old DLL's are not in use ..
     
    The problem occurrs only using guids of Patch policies, using MSD policies runs ok.
     
    Anybody can help us?

    Have you tried re-compiling the ASDK project I listed above and re-placing that component that is causing the error with a new version? https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/process-manager-logging-problems

    Hi Lark, thanks for your response.

    I compiled the generated7 objects...

    I'm thinking the problem is not the compilation...; the object runs ok using MSD policies but not the same with SWU (patch management).

    Ops !!

    Referencing Symantec.Patchmanagement.dll is the correct way to use components like "Create Update Policy Component" or "Set Software Update Policy Targets" related to Patch Management policies...
