    As a group at my company we do IT work for a company we had an existing machine (WIn xp pro that had sepm 11.0 installed on it and I seen that it couldn't handle the load of 40 wkstations. I then called Symantec and had them assist and we installed it on a 64bit 2008 std windows server with SQL loaded on it already and various other lob apps, and starting running into issues with clients not receiving definition updates and the HTML on the gui of the SEPM console wouldn't appear. After much trouble shooting stopping the services on this server for SEP and loaded 11.0.6a now on a Win 2003 std server with only Blackberry pro on it, it now works fine. Here is my Dilemma.........After uninstalling it from the previous Windows 2008 server we had issues as per below;
    --program data\application data was recreating it's self in the same directory multiple times
    --permissions for the administrator were screwed up

    Conclusion is that we had to then call Microsoft to get involved and they ended up resetting the permissions for the above directory and recreating the Administrator user.

    Question to all Symantec Engineers is: Has anyone come across an issue where Symantec will do this? Please Help, my Manager believes it was Symantec.

    Thank you!

    Hi Chad

    I don't think that Symantec will reset the permission on folder.

    What could have happened that while troubleshooting this permission would have been assigned or there may be a diffrent reason. Neither SEP or SEPM will do the 2 things that you have mentioned.
