Help with cataloging media with backup exec

Hello,
Im trying to do a restore. I put the tapes in, ran an inventory and when I try to catalog the media it runs for a short time (sometimes as little as 3 minutes or as long as 3.5 hours) and then I get this:
"The job was canceled because the response to a media request alert was Cancel, or because the alert was configured to automatically respond with Cancel, or because the Backup Exec Job Engine service was stopped."
Im new to this and not sure what to do to get around this. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi,
Have you checked to make sure that the service mentioned is running? If it is then i would restart the service. If this does not work then repost with what errors you are getting in the event log.

Hi Please check the alert category under alert Tab in Be console
under ...TOOLS---WIZARDS-- ALERT CATEGORIES.
If the alert is set to autoresponse in any specified time
If so change that to default settings
Alert may be "Media Insert"
